Some random shii—facts about me
realize that it may be confusing because it looks like for my Evann. Or for my Evan N. But really it’s because of my Chinese name. My chinese name used to be 淼宏 (miao hong) in honor of my mom’s maiden name “水” (shui). “水” means water while “淼” means a great abundance of water, like an ocean (which makes sense since it’s basically three “水”). But according to some principle in feng shui/風水 (which literally, and ironically, translates to ‘wind water’), my name had too much water, which is apparently ‘unlucky’. So, my name was magically changed to “苗宏” (still read, similarly, as ‘miao hong’) where “苗” now means ‘sapling’.
Because of this, I decided to name myself “too much water”. But since that sounds a bit lame, I inputted the phrase into google translate and tried multiple Nordic languages (because for some reason I like Nordic countries). Since many of the translations had non-English letters/ symbols, I decided on the Norwegian translation (for mye vann…although I’m not 100% sure that it’s correct) since it would be simple enough to input on my English keyboard xD.
So that’s my story?
